Parking:
A four-level parking garage is located on the west side of Union Station. Parking is free with a validated ticket from Science City, KC Rail Experience, traveling exhibits, or any of the theaters. Please ask about validation at the ticket counter. For all other visitors, parking is free for the first three hours and then $1 for each additional half hour. Limited short-term parking is also available in front of the building. Please insert cash into the honor boxes.

FREE Planetarium Shows

PlanetariumWith your general admission to Science City, you can now enjoy FREE shows in the recently reopened Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium. Each show is between 25 and 50 minutes. Some shorter shows will be shown in combination. Seating is first come, first served. WE recommend arriving atht he planetarium doors at least* 10 minutes prior to the show to secure your seat. (*We recommend arriving earlier on busier days.)

Legends of the Night Sky
Learn about the Greek myth behind the constellations of Perseus, Andromeda, Pegasus, and many others in this kid-friendly laser show. (25 minutes)

The Planets
Test your knowledge of the nine planets in our solar system as they're presented in a game-show format. YOu'll be transported from planet to planet and immersed in each one's unique environment, learning details about surface features, orbits, moons and rings, and the history behind their discoveries. (30 minutes)

Lifestyles of the Stars
Hop on teh bus for a tour of all the biggest and brightest stars in the sky! Travel the cosmos as your guide points out the many differences in star sizes, colors, and temperatures. (10 minutes)

More than Meets the Eye
A quick lesson on the basics of astronomy and stargazing. See real images of planets, stars, and nebulae as they appear through high-powered telescopes. (20 minutes)

Seasonal Sky Tour
Get a unique view of thes ummer night sky as it appears over Kansas City, as we pull back the clouds and remove teh city's sky glow to show you bright stars and prominent constellations visible tonight. (30 minutes)
